I had been in LinkedIn for years and I had no clue as to how to use it effectively for my benefit.

Until a few days ago.

Uses of LinkedIn

Different people use LinkedIn for different reasons.

Job seekers for seeking jobs, recruiters for their recruits, influencers and thought leaders for sharing their knowledge etc.

I did not seem to fit into any of the existing categories.

I was never seeking job, I had a full time occupation.

Rarely any online recruitment except for about one instance in all of these years.

Influencer? Nah. Far from it. I have a long, long way to go.

The happenings:

Meanwhile, based on my listed job profile, my connections kept growing. At some point, my connection grew to 500. It was a very anxious moment for me but as it turns out, nothing meaningful.

Alongside, the business development executives bombarding me with project management certification courses.

Useful purposes:

Few days back, it hit me that I loved businesses and companies and the works they do in the world stage.

So I started following businesses, companies, businessmen, entrepreneurs along with the business and tech news companies and magazines.

It suddenly felt like LinkedIn was made for me for following these lot.

From Pixar and Disney to Porsche and Lamborghini to consumer brands such as Vivo, Mi, Sony, I started following them all.
